We want to share with passing of Keiko Fukuda, an inspirational female judo player/teacher

Ms. Fukuda was the last living student of J Kanō Jigorō, founder of judo and the highest ranking female Judo practitioner. Standing 4' 11" and weighing less than 100 lbs, she embodied the principles of judo. She refused an arranged marriage which would have required her to give-up her practice of Judo.

Ms. Fukuda lived and taught in San Francisco, CA until her death Feb. 9th , 2013 at age 99.

Fukuda's personal motto was: "Be gentle, kind, and beautiful, yet firm and strong, both mentally and physically."[1][5]
